Madame Tussaud's, the famous wax museum is one of those things that while a bit campy, never ceases to entertain and get a few laughs. There are likenesses of every sort of celebrity imaginable, so even if your kids will never have a chance to meet their favorite stars in person, they will still get a chance to have their photograph taken with them.
There are literally hundreds of Museums catering to every interest, too many to list in fact, but There are Art Museums, History Museums, Maritime Museums and science Museums and many of them are in close proximity to each other in the central district so you wont have a hard time locating them. The hardest part is deciding, democratically of course, which museums the family will visit. Mix it up a bit though so your kids know that you care about their interests too.

So for those that can find vacation rentals London will cease to be a vast city to rush through it will become a city to enjoy. And if you rent holiday apartment London will feel much less like a tourist destination than a second home.
